A Farewell Speech I'm Hoping For
Before Johan puts on his Mets cap at Tuesday afternoon's press conference in New York, I'm hoping for a short but sweet farewell speech that goes something like this:
"Before I move on and become an official member of the New York Mets, I'd like to say a few words about the Minnesota Twins.
Thank you for giving me my major league debut. Thanks to the pitching coaches who helped me become the pitcher I am today.
Thanks to my former teammates, who are great guys to play with.
And finally, thanks to the fans in Minnesota for supporting me. I had a great time playing for the Twins, and I will remember my time with the team fondly."
Short, sweet and sincere. 'Cause nobody in the world goes from this:

To this:

Possibly the most-feared pitcher in all of baseball, without help, support, and maybe even a little good luck.
